Leap Year! What Does it All Mean?
February 25, 2020
Hiking Highlight – Glen Canyon
March 18, 2020From fine dining, to delicious pub fare, to international dining at its very best, West Kelowna has a wide range of restaurant options to choose from. While we could certainly list them all, we wanted to choose 7 of our favourites. So if you’re looking for a tasty evening out, maybe give these a try . . .
The only franchise restaurant to make the list and only because the food is amazing, the drink specials are epic, and the general vibe of the restaurant sits squarely between high-end dining and sports bar. Sammy J’s offers great food created with fresh, local ingredients, and a contemporary dining experience that’s perfect for a date night or just a casual meal among friends.
2) Red Fox Club
If you’re looking for a night out with a fancier edge, why not try the Red Fox Club? Attached to the Indigenous World Winery located just off Highway 97, this restaurant perches over an expansive valley-view of the Okanagan. The menu is changed on a regular basis so you’re always in for a unique dining experience.
The Kekuli Cafe describes it best: “a traditional cultural aboriginal ambience, with light pow wow music, aboriginal art, jewellery and most of all—Aboriginal cuisine.” Offering breakfast and lunch options, the Kekuli cafe specialises in bannock! If you’ve never tried bannock, you should give it a try! It’s made fresh every day and comes in a variety of styles and flavours.
4) Lost Horn Mediterranean Grill
An authentic Mediterranean restaurant, the Lost Horn Grill is a new addition to West Kelowna having opened in 2019. Located in the downtown area, the restaurant boasts “an abundance of natural herbs and ingredients from the Mediterranean.” A cozy atmosphere and a great location (only a 5 minute drive from Tallus Ridge) make this a great addition to the dining options in West Kelowna.
5) Sushi Q
There’s sushi and then there’s Sushi Q. While you can generally throw a rock and hit a sushi place, Sushi Q does come with some differences that place it a notch above the rest. Their bright restaurant is located in downtown West Kelowna (right across from the Lost Horn Mediterranean Grill) so it’s convenient to get to. The staff are friendly and professional, the food is delicious, and the whole place has a great welcoming atmosphere! Dine in or take out. You won’t be disappointed.
Featuring both Indian and Nepalese cuisine, Everest, located on main street in West Kelowna, provides a tantalizing journey for your tastebuds. Their butter chicken and coconut chicken are to die for! If you’re looking for an east asian cultural experience, it’s a great place to visit!
7) Courses Restaurant at Shannon Lake Golf Club
And of course, we have to mention Courses Restaurant. Not only are they our neighbours (you can walk there from Tallus Ridge), but they offer a variety of delectable food items from fine dining to pub grub. They’re set to open this month as the golf season gets underway!
